Overview

Get hands-on experience with engineering and electronics projects right at home. Build everything from a homemade light-up Christmas tree to a motor-driven car. This virtual course provides easy-to-follow instructions through an educational context that allows for an enjoyable learning experience. Each project helps kids understand how things work, build their critical thinking and problem solving skills, and express their imagination in a productive environment.

Includes 1 – 2 hours of at-home asynchronous material.

*This course comes with a kit that includes all specialized materials necessary for the activities. Kits will be mailed directly to you.

*Requires access to a computer, internet, webcam, and some household items (scissors, glue gun, scratch paper,  etc.). 

Instructor to Student Ratio: 1 to 7

  • Learn Engineering Fundamentals
  • Create your own Engineering Projects
  • Think creatively, reason with logic, and work collaboratively with others
  • Build problem solving skills

Learning Path

In the first week of class, students will get their first taste of Engineering by learning concepts and making cool, fun projects to reinforce their knowledge. 

Concepts that will be covered include:

  • Electricity
  • Currents
  • Circuits
  • Work (Movement)
  • Translation (Movement)

In the second week of class, students will continue to learn about different concepts in engineering, and continue building upon concepts learning in the first weeks. 

Concepts that will be covered include:

  • Magnetism
  • Attraction
  • Insulators
  • Conductors
  • Switching
