Dreams for Schools (DFS), a nonprofit providing STEAM education programs for underserved youth, is thrilled to announce the winners of the STEAM Scholarship Awards presented by Neudesic for Fall 2024.
The scholarship program, made possible by Neudesic’s generous support, provides financial assistance and professional development opportunities for DFS Instructors pursuing careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) fields.
“We are so pleased to award the STEAM Scholarships to two DFS Instructors who are very deserving of this scholarship, and we are excited to see how it can serve as a catalyst for both of them. Both Tyler & Jason are new instructors with us this year and off to a great start in their respective schools and programs making an impact with their students!,” said Nithin Jilla, Executive Director of Dreams for Schools. Congratulations to both of them on being selected as our Fall 2024 scholars.
Tyler Huynh – Health Science at California State University, Long Beach
Tyler is a recent alumnus from California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science, Community Health Education. He finds joy in playing volleyball with friends, trying different food spots, being active, and binge-watching popular TV shows in his free time.
With this scholarship award, Tyler will be able to focus on his education and career goals without the added stress of financial constraints. It will support his efforts to complete EMT training, prepare for graduate school, and continue developing the skills needed to serve his community as a healthcare professional. Working toward becoming a pediatric healthcare professional and give back to the communities that have shaped him to be the person he is today.
Jason Pham – Computer Science at California State University, Fullerton
Jason is a passionate and curious individual pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), with the goal of becoming a Mobile App Developer. Some of his hobbies include bouldering, volleyball, basketball, sewing, and playing board games.
One of his favorite moments with DFS was his students’ reaction from the LED project as they loved seeing their hard work and accomplishment!
